AmSECT Mary Hartley Student Scholarship Award

The AmSECT Mary Hartley Scholarship Fund is a scholarship that will provide one second-year student enrolled in a perfusion training program with a $5,000 scholarship each year. This scholarship fund is made possible by a generous donation from Mary Hartley.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words detailing why they chose to study perfusion.
  • The applicant must be a student enrolled in their second year of a CAAHEP-accredited perfusion training program and in the middle of clinical rotations.
  • The applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.0 for all classes relating to their perfusion degree. Applicants will need to submit a transcript to confirm current GPA. 
  • The applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member attesting to the student’s technical skill and commitment to the field of perfusion.

Application Review Process:

The application will open on Monday, June 27. All applicants must ensure all required materials, including the faculty submit a letter of recommendation, by August 26, 2022. The application, transcript, and statement may be submitted through the AmSECT website, and the letter of recommendation must be submitted from the author directly to AmSECT at amsect@amsect.org.

The applications will be reviewed by the AmSECT Foundation Board and the AmSECT Achievement Recognition Committee. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application no later than October 17, 2022.

The selected winner will be announced to the AmSECT membership and will be interviewed for an upcoming issue of AmSECT’s newsletter, AmSECToday.
