AmSECT Pediatric and Congenital Perfusion Committee (PCPC)
Job responsibilities

  1. Prerequisite Criteria
    • American Board Certified Cardiovascular Perfusionist
    • Must be an AmSECT member in good standing
    • Must be a Fellow of Pediatric Perfusion (FPP)
    • Only one representative on the committee from each institution
  2. Responsibilities
    • Should make substantial efforts to attend all AmSECT Pediatric and Congenital Perfusion Committee meetings while serving as a committee member
      • Failure to attend two meetings in a three year period may result in the review of committee status
    • Must Attend the Pediatric Committee meetings at conferences attended
    • Assist in planning of conference by such methods as:
      • Assisting the Committee chair with:
        • Acquiring Faculty speakers
        • Proposing potential topics
      • Participating in Meeting
        • Moderating sessions
        • Presenting
      • Recruiting vendors
      • Evaluation of sites for potential future meetings.
    • Be available for 50% of scheduled pediatric committee conference calls throughout the year
    • Volunteer time to work on special projects assigned by the committee
  3. Term Length, Membership Limits
    • Term Length is three years
    • Maximum of two terms
    • Reapplication / declaration of interest between terms
      • As described via email to Committee Chair stating desired interest to remain on Committee
      • Maximum number of members = 8, minimum = 6
  4. Other potential areas of interest should include:
    • Participation in establishment of pediatric Body of Knowledge
    • Assisting with recruitment of Fellows of Pediatric Perfusion (FPPs) when necessary for such tasks as:
      • Participation in AmSECT today columns
      • Recruitment of faculty speakers for meetings
      • Sub -committee participants on delegated projects
    • Discussion and planning of future meeting involvement
    • Support and encourage the expansion of PCCP fellowships throughout the US and the development of an academic post-graduate certificate for national recognition of training.
    • Participation in multi-Center Collaborative studies
      • Might involve rotating control, study design and protocol development of various topics among participating centers
    • Submission of powerpoints from past meetings and creation of a journal library linked with AmSECT University
