What is the cancellation policy for the 60th International Conference?

What does the cost of registration cover?
AmSECT is partnering with a premier platform provider to produce the same high-quality experience that you expect from AmSECT’s International Conference, whether you’re attending live or virtually!

When will I be able to pre-register for the educational sessions? Do I have to do this when I register?
You do not need to pre-register for conference sessions during the registration process. If you wish to purchase a pre-conference session, you may do so through the registration form.

What if I wanted to register after the event starts?
You can still register for the 60th International Conference after it has started – whether that is to attend virtually or in-person.  When you register, it may take up to 1 hour for your account to be activated within our virtual platform. If you are in person, you can stop by the registration desk to pick up your conference badge!

How do I pay for my registration?
AmSECT accepts both credit card and check payments for International Conference registration. Credit card payments must be completed online during the registration process. Checks must be made payable to American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology and may be mailed to the following address:

All attendees who opt to pay by check must complete the online registration form. The option to pay by check will be presented to you during checkout.

What if I chose to pay by check while processing my registration, but decide later to pay by credit card?
Registrants may pay their unpaid registration via credit card by accessing their active invoice. Please follow the instructions below:

  1. Login to your AmSECT account
  2. Go to your Profile (under My Options > My Profile on the top-right corner of your screen)
  3. Click on the Transactions tab
  4. Select View Invoice next to your 2022 registration
  5. Select either Pay With Credit Card, Pay by Check, or Pay by Third Party

When does my payment need to be received to ensure I have access to the conference? 
To ensure seamless access to our virtual and in-person event, please have all check payments mailed by Thursday, March 24, 2022. Please note that there have been delays in the USPS system – sending payment as early as possible is requested. We are not able to accept any payments sent by FedEx or UPS, and registrants will not have access to the content until payment is received and processed. If your payment is not received by March 31st, your registration will be deleted and you will have to re-register at the prevailing registration rate.

Please note, after March 24, 2022, no check payments will be accepted for the 60th International Conference.

I didn’t receive my registration confirmation. What do I do?
Your registration confirmation email is only sent once payment is received. Please contact registration@amsect.org to resend your confirmation email.

If you signed up the day of the event, it may take up to 1 hour for your account to be activated.

In-Person Conference

Will I be able to earn Continuing Education Hours?
AmSECT applies for CE credit with the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Please note that Category I credit will be available for those sessions you attend live. More information will be available closer to the conference regarding the type of credit and number of points available for on-demand viewing.

What ADA Accommodations will be made for in-person conference attendees? 
AmSECT complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and is committed to providing a positive experience for all of our attendees. If you have special requirements due to disability, you may indicate your requests during the registration process. Please let us know what request you have before March 24, 2022 so we can make every effort to accommodate your request.

What device can I use to access the Annual Conference Mobile App?
The event can be accessed by mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. We will be providing information on how to download our mobile app closer to the conference.

As an attendee, how long will I have access to the recorded content of the International Conference?
Attendees will have access to recorded sessions through May 10, 2022. 

In what time zone does the event take place?
All sessions will take place in Mountain Standard Time. Please plan accordingly.

Please note: The virtual platform will update the event times to match your computer’s time zone. All promotional materials will show the events in Mountain Standard Time.

What time will the Registration Desk open?
The AmSECT Registration Area will be open daily from Thursday, April 7 - Sunday, April 10, 2022:

What time is the Exhibit Hall open?
The AmSECT exhibit hall schedule will be coming soon!

Will there be WiFi at the International Conference?
Yes, WiFi will be available during the event. More information coming soon!

Virtual Conference

What will be different about a virtual conference?
With this new format, AmSECT is striving to assure that all attendees receive the same high-quality education that you expect from the in-person International Conference. Virtual attendees will be able to watch all offered sessions, attend educational breakout sessions of your choice in each time slot, obtain continuing education credits, and interact each other.

The virtual format of the event also allows us to offer our concurrent educational breakout sessions to those unable to attend our conference in-person. There is also more opportunity for virtual attendees to interact with other attendees attending virtually.

Will I be able to earn Continuing Education Hours?

How will the Virtual Conference be run? Will it be easy to navigate?
AmSECT is partnering with a virtual conference vendor to ensure that the conference is an easy to navigate for attendees. In advance of the conference, AmSECT will provide attendees with introductory information to ensure you are comfortable with the platform. AmSECT staff will be available throughout the conference to support and assist attendees. This process will be similar to how the 2021 International Conference was run.

What should I expect after I register for the International Conference?
In advance of the start of the 60th International Conference, you will receive an email from AmSECT, with the link to access the platform and session pages. 

What device can I use to access the Virtual Annual Conference?
The event can be accessed by mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. However, we strongly recommend using a desktop computer or laptop with a stable internet connection for the best performance and experience. 

As an attendee, how long will I have access to the recorded content of the Virtual Annual Conference?
Attendees will have access to recorded sessions through May 10, 2022. 

What is the difference between the recorded content available in the platform and the conference recordings?
Some sessions will not be presented "live" and only a recording will be available. these sessions are referred to as recorded content. Conference recordings are "live" sessions that are recorded and made available following the live presentation. Attendees will have access to recordings of all sessions (where speakers have given permission) within the platform shortly following the live presentation. As an attendee, you will be able to access this content through May 10, 2022. 

When will I have access to the virtual event platform?
All registrations will receive an email notification from AmSECT when the platform is available in late April. Content will be made live starting, Thursday, April 7, 2022. Please note, you must be registered 24 hours to the start of the Conference in order to have access to the platform on April 7.

In what time zone does the event take place?
All sessions will take place in Mountain Standard Time. Please plan accordingly.

What platform is being used?
Pathable is the platform being used to host the virtual event.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
