Position: Staff Perfusionist

Location: Columbus, OH


The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

The Perfusionist provides extracorporeal circulatory support procedures for patients principally in the operating room or intensive care setting. Additionally, the Perfusionist provides a variety of support procedures throughout the entire medical center complex. Perform ancillary duties associated with various programs supported by Perfusion Services. Some of the call duties will require the Perfusionist to travel for organ procurement or ECMO transport.


Bachelor of Science in Allied Health with training in cardiovascular perfusion, monitoring instrumentation, and organ preservation. Certification eligible required. On going: Demonstrates competence and growth in technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
