Position: Staff Perfusionist

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, MUSC

Description: The Medical University of South Carolina's practice is growing, We have an opening for an additional Staff Perfusionist. This is a dynamic position, with a great team of perfusionists and physicians, in a beautiful city and excellent climate. Please see requirements and link below.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Perfusion Technology or Bachelor of Science degree with a certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program. 5 years of clinical experience required. Experience with heart, and lung transplants, ECMO, VAD, and computerized charting preferred. Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required. Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association ( AHA ) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR / AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
