Perfusionist Newark DE

Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited Perfusion program and will have current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or will be Board Eligible. A minimum of 2 years of recent work experience as Certified Clinical Perfusionist is preferred. Current BLS certification is required.

Christiana Care Health System- Cardiovascular Surgery program is one of the top in the nation and continues to grow! With four cardiovascular surgeons on staff, we perform close to 800 cardiovascular surgeries each year. The Clinical Perfusionist will conduct cardiopulmonary bypass for adult open heart procedures, anticoagulation management, autologoust blood salvaging/transfusion and quality control management. Also acts as an integral member of the critical care team for patients in need of life saving extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) or emergent cardiopulmonary support (CPS) therapy when indicated in the ICU or Cath Lab, helping to place the patient on ECMO/CPS and then optimizing the therapy for the duration of treatment. They provide in case support for all transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures in the hybrid ORs as well.

The hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with a 1:4 on-call rotation to cover evenings & weekends.

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
