Location: Baltimore, MD
Description: We’re looking for a talented, dedicated professional to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical Center! Team of 16 perfusionists. Average call amount is ~6 days/month. (includes 2call, 1call, etc.) Work ~30 hours/week on average. Post Call days given after primary call. (regardless of called in or not.) “Free” week off, between nightshifts, without PTO use!!! Morning people usually leave ~1p. 24/7 in-house perfusion Rounder coverage. Day rounder shifts are 7a-7p. (1-2 shifts/month). Night rounder shifts are 7p-7a. Night rotation= ON Fri-Mon, OFF Tue-Mon, ON Tue-Thu, OFF Fri-Sun. (Usually ~5 night rotations/year, granting extra ~5 weeks off/year without PTO use!) In-house coverage helps reduce call in amounts/hours for call team. Rounder will do cannulations/changeouts/oversee ECMO specialists and facilitate dept needs. Rounder also acts as a backup to the OR [perfusionists], and helps coworkers as needed.
Requirements: EDUCATION: 1. Bachelor’s Degree from an approved Perfusion Training program OR a Bachelor’s Degree with certification in perfusion technology (Required). Master’s Preferred.
CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE/ REGISTRATION: 1. Eligible for Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Required) 2. Licensure with the State of Maryland specific as a Perfusionist (Required) 3. Current CPR Certification (Required)
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:1. One (1) year of perfusion experience (Preferred) 2. Ability to maintain collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues, in order to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals; and to help foster a positive work environment.
