Lynchburg General Hospital, a member of Centra Health in central Virginia, has an immediate opening for a self motivated Perfusionist to join two professionals. We have consistently performed 400 plus adult procedures per year for over ten years. Primary duties include a mix of traditional adult open-hearts, ATS, AngioVac, TAVR and pacemaker lead extraction standby, and IABP and ECMO resource person. ECMO initiation and management is performed by our capable nursing/respiratory therapy staff. Evening and weekend call-in procedures are rare. We have annual professional recertification expense reimbursement with paid time for attending meetings.

Bachelor's prepared or higher is required. The position is open to experienced and new graduate Perfusionists from an accredited school of cardiovascular perfusion.
Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) required or board eligible (certification required within one year of employment).
A perfusionist is a highly skilled, allied health professional who is qualified by academic and clinical training to operate complex, life-sustaining, extracorporeal circulation devices. These devices are typically applied to alleviate the suffering of patients with certain cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases.
