Position: UM Perfusionist

Location: Minneapolis, MN


If you’re a Perfusionist looking for an opportunity to work with an amazing team of up to 20 other adult and pediatric perfusionists in a practice that spans both academic and community hospital settings, then look no further. University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Perfusionist to join our growing practice in the Twin Cities. Not only do we have a great team, we work with a group of supportive and collegial surgeons!

Practice Details:
Case coverage for 9 surgeons (and growing) primarily at an academic and community hospital
800+ adult bypass cases (Including on-pump Cabs, Valves, minimally invasive valves, heart and lung transplants, complex aortic reconstruction, adult congenital, VADs)
200 TAVRs
200 ECMOs including initiations/transport from outside hospitals (Perfusionist does not sit bedside ECMO – dedicated ECMO Specialists for this work)
80 Liver Transplants with veno-veno bypass
HIPEC, AngioVacs, and 150+ other standby procedures
Help train future Perfusionists by precepting students


Hard-working, positive attitude, and a desire to be a team-player.
Ability to problem-solve and develop creative solutions to day-to-day challenges; willing to contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology Program.
Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or board eligible may also be considered.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
