TriHealth, Inc in Cincinnati Ohio has an FTE Adult Clinical Perfusionist position available. TriHealth is a community partnership of Good Samaritan and Bethesda North Hospitals, both with growing open-heart programs with consistent great outcomes, and one of Truven Analytics Top 15 Health Systems in the nation, a top cardiovascular hospital, and a great place to work.
This position will be part of a department of 10 full-time Perfusionists that covers over 700 Adult Heart Surgeries a year between 5 excellent surgeons. Beyond the standard open-heart procedures, we also cover DaVinci Robotic CABGs and MVRs, TAVRs, HIPECs, Cell Savers, Angiovac procedures, ECMO procedures, and beginning a VAD program.
The Perfusion team works in collaboration with an emerging CVICU Nurse Ecmo Speciailist Team, who provide in-house 24/7-hour coverage. Perfusion initiates, assists with transports, and is on-call back up for emergencies. We are a cohesive team with very low turnover and enjoy a nice work/life balance. Our comprehensive compensation package includes competitive pay and enhanced PTO benefit as well as generous continuing education allowances. We are happy to offer a $15,000 sign on bonus.
Requirements:
PERFUSIONIST: This position’s main job duties are as follows: operate the heart lung machine during open heart surgery to maintain patient’s hemodynamic and physiologic parameters; monitor, diagnose, and treat any parameters that are out of acceptable limits; operate various ancillary life support equipment predominately related to cardiovascular services such as ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and cell savings devices; and operate, maintain and QC point of care lab testing equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion, or graduate of an ABCP recognized Perfusion Program with current, active CCP Certification or eligibility for CCP Certification BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by ABCP required within 2 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of special procedures such as heart bypass, circulatory arrest, and cerebral perfusion.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Ability to prepare and use these procedures with little or no supervision. Graduate from a Certified Perfusion Program, and/or CCP Certified Clinical Perfusionist. Recent experience in Adult Perfusion, or strong new grad candidate welcome.
