We are building a team of five energetic and engaged perfusionists to join our team at Augusta University Health in Augusta, GA
Augusta University Health includes 478-bed AUMC, 154-bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia with the region’s only Level IV NICU, and more than 80 outpatient clinics. As a 13-county Level 1 trauma center and academic health center, AUMC provides a full range of clinical services with world-class clinicians, pioneering research, and the latest technologies and breakthroughs
AUMC performs approximately 440 cases - 340 adult and - 100 pediatric per year. This is a wonderful team that supports 3 surgeons. We pump all adult cases, expect transplants and all pediatric cases. Each perfusionist pumps approximately 80-90 cases per year. Almost all pediatric cases are performed by the Chief Pediatric Perfusionist. We do no adult ECMO at this time but do some pediatric ECMO cases, approximately 4 per year.
Augusta, GA is located on the Savannah River which borders SC. Home of the Master’s Golf Tournament, it has a local minor league baseball team, and is roughly 2.5 hours from a wide array of activities beyond its already wonderful climate and outdoor activities. Biking, hiking, golfing, and fishing are all available. Additionally, close by is Aiken SC, known for being a southern home to many Equestrian events and lifestyles and has its own version of a Triple Crown series. Atlanta GA, Greenville SC, Ashville NC, Columbia SC, Charleston SC, and Savannah GA are all within a short morning drive with plenty of time to enjoy the day. Home of the Army Cyber Command Center and a long standing medical community, Augusta is a wonderful place to live, enjoy life, and raise a family. Many locally owned farm-to-table restaurants continue to succeed along with all the national culinary options available as well. Columbia County just west of Augusta is ranked extremely high for their school systems and lifestyle.
You must obtain ABCP certification within two years of joining SpecialtyCare.
Ability to work on Call; must live within 30 minutes from the hospital
