Join our Perfusion team in Visalia, CA. Kaweah Delta Medical Center’s dedication to cardiovascular health is everywhere in its Telemetry Department, Cardiac Surgery suites, Catheterization Labs, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. 

Program highlights:

Annual caseload approximately 275-300.

Cases include all types of adult cases, TAVRs, and ECMOs.

3 cardiac surgeons, 2 perfusionists, and a perfusion assistant on staff.

33.3% call when fully staffed at 3 perfusionists.

Located in the San Joaquin Valley in California, Visalia is only 36 miles from the Sequoia National Park and 2 hours from Yosemite National Park. It is a great base location to visit the mountains and the ocean, with the beach only 2 hours away. Los Angeles is 190 miles south and San Francisco is 230 miles northwest. Visalia has a vibrant downtown area that thrives with dining options, shopping, micro-breweries, and art venues. Paso Robles, a great area for wine tasting is a fun weekend trip year-round. The retail corridor offers access to the typical name brand stores and restaurants one would expect in any city. Visalia is a good option for those seeking a small town vibe.

Growing through Training and Professional Development

Applicants to our Perfusion program must have completed a two-year master’s degree, a post-baccalaureate certificate program, or have current ABCP certification. We provide support for our perfusionists in preparation for the certification exams and continuing education opportunities through CEU-eligible industry events—including our own annual Mechanisms of Perfusion conference. Our experienced perfusionists enjoy training and mentoring new graduates, and we ensure that all of our clinicians remain current through regular clinical and non-clinical competency evaluations.

Requirements:

Position Requirements

  • You must obtain ABCP certification within two years of joining SpecialtyCare.
  • Experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Ability to work On Call and must live within 30 minutes from the hospital.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
