Perfusionist

Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is adding an additional position to its existing staff of 5 Perfusionists. CRMC has a robust and continually growing heart and ECMO program, making it an exciting place to work for new grads and experienced perfusionists. Our program is all adult-based with a wide variety of cases including CABG, valves, dissections, TAVR, VAD, ECMO, TEVAR, HIPEC, Angiovac, laser lead extraction etc. We are looking for an extraordinary perfusionist who is able to communicate and work effectively with all staff members and physicians.

In this role you will manage the cardiopulmonary bypass system, the intra-aortic balloon pump, autologous blood salvage system and other related systems, during patient procedures and under physician supervision. You will operate the heart-lung machine to regulate blood circulation and composition, to administer drugs and anesthetic agents, and to control body temperature during surgery or respiratory/cardiac failure of patient. Your main objective is to monitor operations of heart-lung machine and patient’s physiologic variables such as blood temperature, blood composition, and flow rate, and adjusts equipment to maintain normal body functions. You will assist in implantation and monitoring of VAD and ECMO circuits, development and application of new techniques, and maintenance of equipment and supplies. We will be required to produce documentation that is complete, accurate, concise, timely and legible and meets all requirements according to according to the standards of Community Medical Centers.

Minimum requirements include; Graduation from an accredited perfusion program. Credentialed by the CMC Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform Perfusionist standardized procedures. Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or board-eligible. Current BLS and ACLS certification or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

We’re affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility and have trained 3,000 Medical Doctor’s to date plus remain investing in research and training grants.

There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program.
