Position: Lead Perfusionist
Location: Jackson, MI
Monitors and advises employees engaged in the treatment, measurement or supplementation of the circulation system. Evaluates techniques and laboratory functions: recommends the acquisition of personnel and equipment, ensures the proper functioning of equipment prior to procedures. Provides technical guidance in the performance of both total and partial cardiopulmonary bypass and assist systems and performs duties of a Perfusionist as required. Responsible for the instruction of other hospital staff members in the care and operation of equipment. Instructs and evaluates Perfusionists, Perfusion Technology students and the Perfusion Assistants. Monitors and advises employees engaged in providing electrical blood pressure monitoring, electromagnetic blood flow measurement, thermal dilution cardiac output measurement and related duties in the Operating Room or Critical Care settings. Schedules personnel in order to ensure adequate coverage.
Bachelors degree from a CAHEA approved Perfusion Training Program.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience at the Senior Perfusionist level is necessary to learn hospital policies and procedures, budget training, management techniques etc. required.
Analytical ability required in order to set up, calibrate, operate and maintain equipment.
Manual dexterity required to work with finely detailed circuitry, components and systems.
Visual/hearing/verbal abilities required in order to operate equipment and assist during surgical procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. BLS/ACLS.
