Position: Clinical Perfusionist
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Description: The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a Clinical Perfusionist to operate, maintain, and utilize circulation technology applications including but not limited to: cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB); left heart bypass; ventricular assist device (VAD); HIPEC; extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO); veno-venous by pass for liver transplantation; myocardial preservation; autologous blood recovery/blood conservation; anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis; physiologic monitoring/analysis; blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis; induction of hypothermia with reversal; hemodilution; hemofiltration; administration of mediations, blood components and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit; surgical assisting.
Requirements: Required:
Bachelor’s degree required in an allied health field or equivalent with a strong science background, and advanced training in circulation technology form a CAHEP accredited perfusion training program.
Must be certified or eligible to sit for the certification exam and actively pursuing certification, by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Must attain certification within the first 18 months of employment. ABCP certification must be maintained during the term of employment.
