Position: Clinical Perfusionist

Description: We are looking for a staff Perfusionist to join our collegial and dynamic team of nine at IU Health-Methodist Hospital located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Enjoy using the latest in technologies with a strong, talented and friendly team. IUH-Methodist is a Level One Trauma, Vascular, and Heart Attack Center with a full-service practice comprising all aspects of aortic repair. We also perform CABG and valve repair/replacements, including robotic assisted MVR/R, heart and lung transplants and Heartmate3 VAD implants. Our active ECMO program is an ELSO Center of Excellence, currently holding a gold rating. ECMO clinicians support our ECMO patients, with perfusion involvement limited to OR initiations, transport and central decannulations. Requirements: >Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
>Incumbents with training completed after April 15, 1981 are required to maintain cardiovascular perfusion certification (or to be eligible for the perfusion certification examination process).
>Working knowledge of cardiovascular and respiratory systems, physiology, anatomy, mechanical and electronic equipment and new innovations in the field of open heart surgery.
>Perfusion experience in applying above referenced knowledge in a hospital operating room setting.
>Open heart surgery and surgical perfusion procedure experience.
>Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of cardiovascular perfusion, life support, and blood salvage equipment, instrumentation and supplies.
