Position: Cardiovascular Perfusionist - Teaching Associate
Location: Seattle, WA
The University of Washington Medical Center is seeking a full-time Cardiovascular Perfusionist. We are one of the leading providers of services in cardiothoracic surgery in the state of Washington.
All Perfusionists shall assist in cardiothoracic surgery. Eighty-five percent of our cases are performed at UWMC-ML. The other fifteen percent are performed at Harborview Medical Center and Seattle Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Perfusionists are responsible for the preparation and operation of the heart and lung machine for cardiothoracic cases. Our case load includes but is not limited to performing heart, lung and liver transplants as well as CABGs, valves, PTEs, aortic dissections, complex adult congenital cases, HIPEC and AngioVac. We stand by for TAVRs and provide cell saving services. Currently, our Perfusionists are also responsible for ECLS and ECLS transport services. Perfusionist hold the rank of Teaching Associates, as we are a clinical site with medical and perfusion students, residents and fellow rotations.
Perfusionists will take an average of 10 days of call a month. Perfusionists must lead, teach and be flexible.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Perfusion, and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
Must work independently as well as cohesively with other perfusionists, the OR staff and surgeons.
