Associate Director - CV Perfusion

Location: Lexington, KY

Description: CCHMC and the University of Kentucky have partnered to develop the Joint Pediatric Heart Care Program (JPHCP) providing pediatric and adult congenital heart care at Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. The JPHCP Department of Cardiovascular Perfusion (DCP) staff will be members of the CCHMC team and stationed in Lexington. This arrangement allows the successful candidate to enjoy all the benefits provided by CCHMC and the full support and security of the growing CCHMC DCP while embarking on the exciting challenge of establishing a new program. The DCP is seeking an Associate Director to supervise the application of pediatric and adult congenital circulation technology and assist the DCP Director in the development and maintenance of the JPCHP DCP. Salary commiserate with clinical and leadership experience. Thirty-four days of PTO annually. Fifteen-percent of salary annually contributed to your pension. 403(b) and 457(b) plans also available. Contributions of $2000 annually by CCHMC to an eligible healthcare plan HSA. Certification, professional dues and CEU funds provided. Tuition assistance for further education.

Required

  •  Bachelor’s degree required in an allied health field or equivalent with a strong science background and advanced training in circulation technology from a CAHEP accredited perfusion training program or an equivalent combination of education and perfusion experience 
  •  Certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion 
  •  Five to seven years of progressive experience as a pediatric Cardiovascular Perfusionist 
  •  Prior clinical managerial experience 


Preferred

  •  Prior functional or team leadership experience 
  •  Master’s degree preferred in an allied health field 
  •  AmSECT’s Fellow of Pediatric Perfusion Designation

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
