Distance Learning Master’s Degree Program for Perfusionists
The University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Clinical Perfusion Education program is proud to offer a graduate degree completion program by distance-education to qualified clinical Perfusionists. To be eligible, the Perfusionist must meet the prerequisite standards for admission to the school and must have graduated from an CAAHEP accredited perfusion education program AND possess a Bachelor’s degree not associated with the perfusion training. The hours committed to collegiate education must be complete to have earned the Bachelors, then graduate school transfer credit will be offered for the perfusion training. The on-line program will complete the research and management cognates for the professional degree, Master’s in Perfusion Science (MPS). The sum of the transfer credit and the on-line course work will provide the correct number of graduate school hours to earn the Master’s degree.
Perfusionists need not be clinically active to enroll in this program. The curriculum includes a perfusion level survey course to reconcile perfusion training to UNMC CPE standards, but the primary focus is learning to conduct quality research and management skills. The goal of the program is to provide a solid foundation for evidence-based training for application to compliment clinical, educational, or technical practice.
