Rush University student research survey - Difficulties in starting a VAD program

Hello AmSECT community,

My research partner and I are looking for participants to take our survey and help us complete our Master's level research project for Rush University. I know...everyone loves a good survey.

Our project is looking at the difficulties in starting and maintaining a successful Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program. We interviewed several VAD coordinators in the field as well as clinicians in the VAD industry to gather qualitative information. Based on our interviews, we created a targeted survey to gather information on the specific challenges associated with starting and maintaining VAD programs. In addition, we hope to create an aggregate of basic demographics such as, the number of VADS implanted, where protocols are obtained, etc., from VAD programs across the country. We hope that the collected data will be useful for programs to understand how other facilities operate and provide a framework based on the collective experiences of existing programs.

If your facility has a VAD program please consider taking it or sending the link to colleagues who are involved in a VAD program (it's not just for Perfusionists). It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and it is completely anonymous.

Thank you,

Principle investigators: Cassie Poulos and Emily Hayes
