Perfusion Administration Skills Symposium (PASS)*

This symposium will focus on crucial administrative skills necessary for managing a perfusion program.  The session will include topics such as policy and procedure writing, adherence to standards and guidelines, and monitoring quality measures.  Attendance is encouraged for lead perfusionists and staff perfusionists with an interest in improving their team’s organization and quality

Blood Management Workshop*

This workshop will focus on reviewing the newest research in optimizing blood management as clinical practice guidelines for both pediatric and adult cardiac procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Learning objectives include; integrating various perfusion adequacy indicators that relevant to blood transfusion and blood conservation, reviewing algorithmic-proportionate approach of blood products administration (RBC, platelets, plasma derived factor concentrates) during and post CPB and the role of perfusionist in preserving an ideal perfusate composition at different phases of CPB. Attendees will get an opportunity to learn from lectures and interaction between the faculty and participants.
