The Leadership Symposium is a series of three pre-event webinars, a one-day Leadership Conference, and a post-event webinar geared toward aspiring perfusion leaders. Throughout the program, you’ll work one-on-one with an experienced perfusionist mentor to develop a customized leadership plan that can be implemented immediately.

Do you aspire to be the chief perfusionist, running your own department? Just want to hone your leadership skills? The AmSECT Leadership Symposium will provide a foundation for understanding and improving your leadership competency. The program will focus attention on the unique challenges perfusionists experience in their roles.

Registration Fee: $500

Apply here to attend the Leadership Symposium. For those planning to also attend the 2019 International Conference beginning March 8, a $100 discount will be applied to the registration fee. ALL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 23, 2018.

Who Should Attend

The AmSECT Leadership Symposium is intended for perfusionists who are current or aspiring leaders, including those currently in management positions who desire to improve their leadership potential.

Program Structure

All attendees will need to participate in the three pre-conference webinars, the in-person conference, and the post-conference webinar. The Pre-Conference webinars are scheduled for January 17, January 31, and February 21, the in-person conference will take place on March 7, and the post-conference webinar will take place on March 28. The program will be divided into four courses focused on different leadership domains: personal leadership, team leadership, organizational leadership and performance improvement. Each course will include both didactic presentations and interactive workshop activities.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
