Read why attendees from the 2017 Leadership Symposium recommend this program to other aspiring leaders in the field:

"I enjoyed the area of team leadership the most because it gave me an opportunity to see how experienced leaders would handle arguments or poor behavior within your team. Real world examples and personal scenarios are very powerful tools for learning. The memory that stands out the most is when the room shared personal experiences on how to handle the team. It started with how we would act individually, then led to a more broad group discussion. I would recommend this program to an aspiring leader because it helps create relationships with experienced leaders. The men and women you meet at this Symposium are good resources to have once you go back home and continue on in your workplace. Leadership is a constant work in progress. Being able to meet successful leaders, pick their brains, and continue to stay in touch for future reference, is the best value that the symposium could give. Often at AmSECT meetings I feel too timid, or not good enough to be in a room full of extremely successful leaders in our profession. This allowed me to meet them on a smaller, more human level."

"Being surrounded by people who are passionate about our field, and collaborating about the next  generation of perfusion was very inspiring. This was a perfect environment to share ideas, and learn from colleagues who have been practicing for years. It was a great way to learn about other centers of excellence, both in practice and in management."

"I wanted to start taking a more active leadership role at my facility as well as in the perfusion community. Spending time with the current leaders in the field and hearing about their experiences seemed like a great place to start. My favorite moments of the symposium was hearing Tami Rosenthal speak about her experiences as Chief of Perfusion at CHOP. I was intrigued with her strength in leadership and utterly impressed with the perfusion program she and her colleagues have created. I would highly recommend this conference to other aspiring leaders. It made me more confident in my leadership abilities and in my clinical expertise. Also I became more connected to my fellow perfusion leaders and appreciated their overwhelming support in my endeavors."

"The leadership symposium was a great opportunity for me to learn the fundamentals and information on how to be a leader in perfusion. This was the missing piece that most master programs for administration can not teach you since they do not pertain directly to perfusion. I definitely now have a greater understanding of how I want to lead in the future, the resources available to me, and the amazing community that we established in the symposium."

- Molly Bryant, CCP, LCP

"I believe that the Leadership Symposium is a vital resource for any up and coming leader Todd.jpgwithin the perfusion community. It was a great opportunity to interact with fellow perfusionists and the current leaders in our field. Also, it is great to know that our national society sees an importance in developing our future leaders."

- Todd Ratliff, CCP
