CEU Approval 

AmSECT International Conference activities have been approved for both SDCEs and Category 1 CEUs. Please see below for a breakdown of the credits offered in conjunction with the event: 

  • AmSECTU Flipped Classroom Pre-Work: 7 Self-Directed Continuing Education Credits (SDCEs)*

The AmSECT Meeting has been approved by ABCP to offer the following Category 1 CEU credits for the meeting:

  • Thursday: 9.6** (Note: Pre-conference workshops are only available to in-person conference attendees)
  • Friday: 8.1
  • Saturday: 9.9
  • Sunday: 4.0

Full Conference - 22 ABCP Category 1 CEUs + 7 SDCEs
Full Conference with Morning and Afternoon Pre-cons – 31.6 ABCP Category 1 CEUs + 7 SDCEs
Virtual Conference - 22 ABCP Category 1 CEUs + 7 SDCEs

*All individuals registered for the Full Conference or Virtual Conference will receive an email with login credentials and instructions on how to earn the SDCEs directly from AmSECT University. Once you login, go to the "College of Education" section, select "Flipped Classroom Prep Classes", then click on the class you want to take. 
**Some pre-conference workshops require additional registration fees. The total represents the maximum amount of credit an individual can earn by participating in morning and afternoon pre-conference workshops.

AmSECT U Flipped Classroom Pre-Work

Attendees of the 57th International Conference can earn an additional 7 Self-Directed Continuing Education credits through completion of online Flipped Classroom courses that focus on trending topics and are intended to serve as pre-work in preparation for the International Conference. Courses include:

  • Is it Time for Goal-Directed Therapy in Perfusion
  • Is Timing Everything
  • Variance in Therapy and Registry Variables
  • The Goal Directed Perfusion Trial in Cardiac Surgery

Registered attendees will receive an email with instructions on how to access the classes. Once you login, go to the "College of Education" section, select "Flipped Classroom Prep Classes", then click on the class you want to take. AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
