Position: Staff Perfusionist

Description: The Heart Center at Duke University Hospital has consistently been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 10 programs in the nation. This year, the tradition of excellence has continued with Duke being ranked #5 in the United States. The perfusion team at Duke demonstrates the same standard of excellence and has been recognized by Press Ganey as a Tier 1 team for staff satisfaction and work culture for two consecutive years. We are now looking to add to our team of 30 perfusionists to support the rapid growth of our heart program. The ideal candidate should communicate effectively, be committed to personal and professional development, and have the desire to become an integral member of a highly engaged team.
Our team provides comprehensive perfusion services for many conditions including major aortic surgery, chemotherapy, ex vivo perfusion, transplant, VAD and ECMO. This position will help support our growing transplant and mechanical assist program which performs over 100 lung transplants, 50 heart transplants, 150 VAD implants and 200 ECMO which includes over 100 VAD/ECMO inter-hospital transports. Interested candidates will be required to travel via ground and air. Alternative scheduling options may be available including evenings, nights or weekends.
Requirements: Qualified candidates must possess a B.S. degree and have completed training from an accredited perfusion program. Candidates must also be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. State Licensure is required for all practicing North Carolina Perfusionists.
