AmSECT Presents
It is our privilege to let you know of a new educational opportunity that AmSECT can now provide for you. This program had been in the development phase for about nine months before coming to fruition in public at the 2004 AmSECT International Conference. Entitled “AmSECT Presents”, it is a series of media-rich presentations available on either CDs and/or DVDs that can be viewed at your convenience.
But, what exactly is “AmSECT Presents”? Over the last year, AmSECT has gone to considerable expense and energy to capture on video the majority of lectures given at the various AmSECT-sponsored meetings. A select number of these presentations have been chosen to be converted to this educational format. Basically, the video, audio, and PowerPoint presentations are synchronized, enabling the viewer to simultaneously see the lecturer and the slide presentation. It’s almost like being there!
Initial response to this project has been overwhelmingly favorable. This format allows an individual to benefit from viewing a missed lecture, simultaneously building a tremendous resource library. It also serves as an efficient avenue for enhancing knowledge and clinical skills.
Although it is not possible to convert every presentation to this format, many lectures presented at the Convention as well as AmSECT topical meetings will be available in the coming months. Make it a habit to often check the list of new titles. Pricing through the end of 2006 for members is a very reasonable $15.00 per CD/DVD with on-line ordering made easy.
