Contributing to Research and Innovation
We support our team members who have a special interest in innovation by lowering barriers to research and publishing, and take great pride in our clinicians who have advanced industry standards and guidelines in both perfusion and cardiac surgery. All of our full-time perfusionists are encouraged to attend conferences and to be active participants in their respective state perfusion societies, so we offer funds and paid time away to attend professional meetings.

The Position and Team
Join our two Perfusionist team who pumps about 120 cases a year. Cases includes all adults CABGS and valves and aneurysms. No VADS, transplants or ECMO. Call would be 50%. Must have a minimum of two years experienced.

Parkersburg is one of West Virginia’s most historic cities. The surrounding area features a colorful and fascinating heritage that has been magnificently preserved and presented by their museums and historic sites. Its convenient riverfront location offers great access to boating and water sports on the Ohio River as well as nearby lakes. Hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, ziplining, and geocaching are also nearby. Parkersburg is home to one of West Virginia’s largest historical residential districts. Parkersburg is a short driving distance to major metropolitan areas including Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus, OH and Washington, D.C.

Parkersburg offers several universities, colleges and technical schools. In addition, many more private colleges and state universities are less than an hour away. The area also has a dynamic public school system that enrolls more than 13,000 students.

Requirements: ABCP certification is required. Two years minimum of experience; five plus years of experience preferred. Ability to work on Call; must live within 30 minutes from the hospital.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
