Position: Staff Perfusionist - UChicago Medicine - Level 1 Trauma - Adults & Pediatrics
Location: Chicago, IL (Hyde Park)
Description: A perfusionist is a skilled person, qualified by academic and clinical education, who operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or replace the patient's cardiopulmonary/circulatory function and ensures the proper management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.

Our perfusion team has the opportunity to aid in the care and support of both adult and pediatric cases in the operating room. We work all types of transplant cases including heart, liver and lungs. With one of the strongest robotic surgery programs in the country, we also offer the ability for our Perfusionists to learn with the newest, and most innovative equipment.
We anticipate 4-6 month training for this position, inclusive of overnight scheduling.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, Either certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and active Illinois State Licensure OR a graduate of a perfusion training program accredited by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion plus certification/licensure eligibility required, Experience in Adult/Pediatric CPB, Organ Transplant, and Artificial Heart Assist Systems is preferred.
