Position: Perfusionist

Location: The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS)-Little Rock, AR

Description: Perfusionists will operate the heart/lung machine, auto-transfusion equipment, intra-aortic balloon pump, and provide cardiopulmonary support services. They will also provide services for intrapleural and intraperitoneal hyper-thermic chemoperfusion as well as isolated limb perfusion. Stand-by services for off pump cases, PTCA, and laser lead extraction cases, on hold cases, and ECMO management will also be provided. As well as service to open heart cases and double procedures. Point of care testing when necessary will be performed and involvement in quality improvement initiatives are required. Liver transplant coverage, interventional radiology for AngioVac procedures, and vascular services for thorocoabdominal aortic repairs will be provided. Additional duties will involve stocking and maintaining the perfusion cart.

Requirements: Graduate from an accredited perfusion program and either board eligible (must gain certification within 2 years of hire) or board certified by the ABCP and current students are welcome to apply. Must be licensed in the state of Arkansas or eligible for an Arkansas license as a licensed Perfusionist. Experience is preferred but not required.
