Position: Perfusionist

Location: Duluth, MN


Performs clinical cardiopulmonary bypass during cardiac surgery, hypothermic re-warming, intraperitoneal hyperthermia, PRP, plasma pheresis, and extracorporeal circulation during LVAD/RVAD procedures on patients adolescent through elderly. In addition to these duties, this position stands by for off pump cardiac procedures.


Education and/or years experience required:
• Bachelors degree with a preference in health science or related field plus graduate of an accredited cardiopulmonary perfusion training program

Licensure/Certifications required:
• Board certified or board eligible with the condition of becoming board certified within Amsects guidelines (3 years).

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
