Position: Pediatric Perfusionist
Location: Houston, TX
Description: We are searching for a Perfusionist who can thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment. In this position you’ll be asked to perform perfusion services to support cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) during congenital heart surgery, ECMO support, VAD support, and cell saver procedures in an age appropriate manner.
Responsibilities include: Perform direct patient care by operating the heart lung machine, ECMO, VAD, cell saver and other suppor system. Administer blood and medications before and during CPB per protocol and as directed by the surgeon/anesthesiologist. Ensure pump team supplies and equipment are readily available at all times by performing cleaning, disinfecting and storing; work with Biomed or vendor to report and manage equipment function. Complete quality control and quality assurance for ann analyzers (ACT, gulcometers, Gem Premiere) and document results are require. Participate in staff education to ensure personal and professional growth and development; lecture to perfusion students and serve as a didactic and clinical instructor.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree and completion of an accredited Perfusionist school. ABCP certified/eligible (CCP) and attain a perfusion license in the State of Texas (LP) within two (2) years of employment; in the interim, must hold a provisional perfusion license in the State of Texas. In depth knowledge of pediatric cardiovascular anomalies and cardiovascular procedures, cardiac drugs, and blood components.
