Lehigh Valley Health Network is located in Lehigh Valley, PA - a wonderful place to live and work! Lehigh Valley is composed of three mid-sized cities surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and countryside. The hospital is conveniently located only 1 hour north of Philadelphia and 1.5 hours west of New York City. The shoreline of New Jersey and its beach attractions are approximately 45 miles east of the Lehigh Valley region. The area offers a moderate cost of living, ten colleges and universities, excellent public schools, and an abundance of cultural and recreational activities.

LVHN's Heart and Vascular Center is one the largest in PA. LVHN has been named numerous times as one of the country's top programs for heart care and heart surgery by U.S News & World Report. Approximately 950 open heart cases are performed annually. The LVHN cardiac program performs all adult interventions include CABG, Valves, TAVR, VADS, ECMO and some HIPEC procedures.

This is hospital employed position offering an attractive benefits and compensation package including CME times and funds. Full Time and Per Diem positions available.

Job Description: As assigned by the Manager of Perfusion Services, and according to the prescribed standards, the Perfusionist performs those functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement, and/or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and/or circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist performs advanced technical work in the selection, preparation, operation, and maintenance of a wide variety of technical perfusion equipment utilized in cardiac surgery, as well as, other circulatory devices and ancillary technologies, and close cooperation with the attending physician in extra-corpreal perfusion practices.

Influenza vaccination is required for all colleagues with patient contact unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice, and is strongly encouraged for all colleagues.

Minimum Requirements: Successful completion of a formal perfusion training program at an accredited school of perfusion. ABCP Certification, valid PA license. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
