Position: Perfusionist

Location: Washington, DC

Description: In this role, you will operate and maintain the heart and lung machines, as well as any other related ancillary equipment during open heart and other related procedures. You will also be expected to monitor, interpret, and maintain various parameters while on extracorporeal circulating, ensuring safe and adequate perfusion.

Requirements: To qualify, you must have an Associate’s degree or higher level degree or equivalent training; certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or eligible; 1-3 years of experience preferred, strong new graduates will be considered; and strong problem-solving skills.

AmSECT Membership Eligibility

An Active Member shall be any perfusionist active in the practice of extracorporeal circulation technology. There are also opportunities to become a Transitional Active Member for those less than a year removed from graduation from an approved accredited training program. Other options include; an Associate Membership, International Membership, Perioperative Blood Management Clinician Membership, and Student Membership.
