Description: Exciting staff perfusionist opportunity to work in the largest medical center in the world!
Join our team of experienced perfusionists at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health), in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Heart Failure and the University of Texas McGovern Medical School Cardiovascular Perfusion Program.
Cases consist of adult CABGs, valves, mechanical assist devices, heart and lung transplantations, TAVRs and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Our team works in close cooperation with the intensive care unit, catheterization lab and circulatory support teams.
This position will incorporate a unique responsibility of being part of the Life Flight cardiac transport team. This is the only air-medical transport service in Houston, and one of just a few in the nation, with balloon pump, ECMO and LVAD capabilities. The UTHealth cardiovascular perfusion school offers opportunity to teach perfusion students in the classroom and the operating room.
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of perfusion and board certified or eligible, by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists. New graduates as well as experienced Perfusionists are encouraged to apply!
Requirements: Completion of an accredited perfusion education program. Awaiting the credentialing as a Provisionally Licensed Perfusionist by the Texas Medical Board or Licensed Perfusionist by the Texas Medical Board. Awaiting clinical privileges from appropriate hospital. This is intended to be a temporary position for an individual awaiting the credentialing of license and clinical privileges mentioned above. Incumbents should have both within 6-8 weeks of hire; exception requests for a longer period of time must be approved by compensation. Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited perfusion education program.
