Position:  Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Bypass Perfusionist

Location: Dallas, TX

Description: The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health Dallas is actively recruiting a Pediatric Perfusionist at the Faculty Associate level. The candidate will join a team of four experienced perfusionists, and be involved in a full spectrum of pediatric and congenital surgery including cardiac transplantation, mechanical assist devices, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), adult congenital surgery, and neonatal surgery. The academic appointment provides opportunity for clinical and laboratory research, and supports the pursuit of professional involvement.
The Heart Center at Children’s Health Dallas ranks among the top ten busiest pediatric heart transplant programs in the country, and is the only pediatric mechanical assist device program in North Texas. The new state-of-the-art Heart Center facilities include three dedicated cardiac ORs, a 30 bed cardiac ICU, spacious hybrid operating room suites, and a dedicated cardiac MRI.

Requirements: Qualified candidates will have at least five years of experience, and extensive experience with ECMO and VADs is preferred. Certification through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and a Texas Perfusionist License will be required.  Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
