Position: Assistant Professor, Cardiovascular Perfusion Program, Rush University Medical Center (RUMC)

Description: The Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences in the College of Health Sciences is seeking an outstanding individual with cardiovascular perfusion clinical expertise at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will serve as the clinical coordinator as well as course director in Cardiovascular Perfusion Science. The candidate will assume the responsibilities of an academic leader at Rush as demonstrated by participation in University, college, departmental, and other professional service activities. The candidate will serve as an effective academic advisor to Rush graduate students. RUMC is a tertiary academic medical center located in the Illinois Medical District (IMD) on the near west side of Chicago. The IMD is the largest urban medical district in the United States. RUMC encompasses a 664-bed hospital serving adults and children, including the Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, which provides medical and rehabilitative care to older adults and people with short- and long-term disabilities. It also includes Rush's 376-bed Tower hospital building.
Requirements: Qualifications for the position include a MS Degree in Cardiovascular Perfusion (BS in Perfusion and MS in related field is also acceptable), and evidence of teaching and research potential. Candidates should possess the ABCP credential and be eligible for Illinois licensure in perfusion. The individual will hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
